Jerry Strub is a life taught artist (aren’t we all) who shares time in two studios- one in Lisle, IL and the other in Union Pier, MI. Though considered a fairly reclusive artist, Jerry’s work is owned by collectors from Los Angeles, to Boston, to Europe with numerous showings in the Midwest.
“My goal is to create emotionally charged layers of textures utilizing mainly acrylics and various forms of mixed media such as pumice and gel mediums. I choose to use colors and images that are raw, spontaneous and that reflect those doors of life that I have chosen to enter on occasion, regardless of the “do not enter” signs. Franciso Goya stated it best- “Imagination abandoned by reason produces impossible monsters; united with it, she is the mother of the arts and the source of its marvels.”
